With 'Apple-style' presentation, OpenAI launches customizable smart assistants
OpenAI wants to be able to compete with large tech companies. During a presentation to developers yesterday, reminiscent of Apple's approach, the company introduced GPTs, a new concept that is best explained as a smart assistant.
Altman's main message during the 45-minute presentation was a customized version of ChatGPT. OpenAI calls them GPTs, more simply: smart assistants. A concept that has been around for years, for example Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa. And in September, Meta announced it was bringing chatbots with AI personalities to its apps.
