The EU’s AI Act is designed to protect citizens from AI-related risks, banning manipulative applications and ensuring fairness in decision-making. But according to Professor Daniel Mügge (UvA), the legislation may not go far enough—focusing on individual rights while overlooking AI’s broader societal impact, such as misinformation and economic disruption.
