AI Parade extended through autumn 2023 due to success
Since September 2022, the AI Parade has travelled past 30 libraries in the Netherlands. AI developments are moving at lightning speed and the popularity of generative AI has attracted the interest of many citizens. There is much debate about what exactly AI is and what this systems technology has in store for us in the future.
For the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, the Ministry of the Interior and the Dutch AI Coalition, reason to extend the AI Parade until the end of this year. The AI Parade will travel through 36 libraries until autumn 2023. Debates, workshops and exhibitions are part of the programme of an AI Parade. It involves a variety of appealing activities, which can reach a large audience.
Purpose AI-Parade
The purpose of the AI Parade is to prepare residents of the Netherlands as much as possible for a future with AI. It is important to engage them directly and raise the level of knowledge and awareness about AI. To enable them to make the most of the application of AI in their daily lives.
During this touring exhibition, library visitors can learn more about artificial or artificial intelligence, also known as AI. The focus will be on questions such as: what is AI? What is it not? What do you notice about it in everyday life? And what are its implications for society in the future? Within the one-month programming for each library, AI specialists, entrepreneurs and users will engage with visitors during sessions, workshops and other activities on AI developments.
Libraries selected for autumn
The following libraries have been selected to host the AI Parade from October 2023. The partners of the AI Parade warmly congratulate them on the allocation and look forward to six new AI Parades that will contribute to raising awareness about AI among residents of the Netherlands.
- Library de Boekenberg Spijkenisse and Library Zuid-Hollandse Delta (Goeree-Overflakkee)
- Dommeldal Library (including Geldrop, Nuenen, Son en Breugel)
- Rivierenland Library (including Tiel, Beesd, Zaltbommel)
