Causal and Dynamical Learning Towards Cyberphysical AI
We live in pivotal times, where Large-scale and Foundation AI has taken the world by storm. One naturally may wonder Quo Vadis AI? AI has achieved tremendous advances due to razor-sharp focus on static data and tasks of pristine quality. As we move our AI from the laboratory to the real physical world, however, we must face another reality. The world is not discrete, made from enumerable pixels neatly and statically arranged in dense arrays nor from prescribed semantic categories. The real, in-the-wild world is continuous, with complex objects, complex agents, complex geometries, complex physical properties, complex materials.
