University Pride-lezing: een AI-regenboogcode maken
Op donderdag 3 augustus, tijdens University Pride, geeft UvA-student Jimena Lara de lezing 'Creating an AI rainbow code' in de Social Hub. In dit interview geeft Jimena een voorproefje van haar lezing.
‘Kunstmatige intelligentie (AI) geweld is een interdisciplinair vakgebied dat politieke sociologie, kunstmatige intelligentie en genderstudies combineert', legt Jimena uit. Ik volgde een cursus over AI die specifiek ging over dit soort geweld en de effecten ervan op sociaaleconomische, etnische en andere minderheden.'
Tijdens haar cursus raakte ze geïnteresseerd in de sociale gevolgen van deze algoritmen. 'Ik ben niet tegen AI, maar wil bewustzijn creëren rond de mogelijke nadelen ervan door kennis uit genderstudies te combineren met inzichten in AI-geweld.'
