Ellogon.ai wins preliminary National Zorginnovatieprijs 2024
We are delighted to announce that Ellogon.ai has emerged victorious as the North Holland preliminary round winner for the esteemed Zorginnovatieprijs. As the chosen scaleup from Amsterdam, Ellogon.ai will proudly present its innovative EIDOS technology at the upcoming national finals on March 21st!
EIDOS, an innovative AI tool developed by Ellogon.ai, is revolutionizing the way cancer patients are selected for immunotherapy. In a field where about 50% of patients do not benefit from traditional immunotherapy treatments, EIDOS offers a promising solution to improve patient outcomes.
During his presentation, Robert Kuipers from Ellogon.ai underscored the significance of precise patient selection, noting that while immunotherapy can greatly enhance patients' quality of life, it comes with a hefty price tag of €150,000 per treatment. He emphasized the urgency of ensuring that the right patients receive this potentially life-saving therapy, especially considering the alarming statistics: every five minutes, 40 individuals in the EU receive a cancer diagnosis, with 14 losing their lives to the disease. Immunotherapy presents a ray of hope, boasting a threefold increase in survival rates.
Developed in collaboration with esteemed institutions like the Netherlands Cancer Institute, EIDOS has received CE certification and is currently in use in four Dutch academic hospitals and one Greek hospital. Its implementation represents a significant advancement in personalized medicine, offering a more targeted approach to cancer treatment.
The regional preliminary of the Zorginnovatieprijs is organised by Amsterdam Economic Board with the Zorg2025 consortium: ROM InWest, Rabobank, Amsterdam AI and Sigra. Together we also organise other Zorg2025 meetings. These are aimed at bringing together healthcare and welfare professionals, industry, researchers and knowledge institutions in the field of health and prevention. The starting point is the sharing of knowledge, new research and innovations.
